Sports Day ~ Monday

Here at our school, Wesleyan Christian Academy, we have what is called "Sports Day".  When I was in Junior/Senior High we had something similar what was called "Field Day".  This year it was decided to do it two days as they've done in years past.  Oh, my!!  What a time was had by all.  The students are divided into four teams ~ the Knights, Warriors, Gladiators and Rangers.  Each team as you'll see have their own color of Tee~shirts with their names printed on the back.  There were so many different sports going on these two days that you could hardly keep everything straight!  The two teacher's that planned this huge event had to have put mega hours into the planning and did an excellent job!!  Just beware that there are lots of pictures.  I haven't even included all I took and didn't even begin to download Tuesday's pictures :o)  Lots of fun memories.  I missed the opening program as I was in the office working.

Opening with several games of kick~ball.  All the studends love playing that!  I'd love to join them sometime!!
Part of the Knights along with Miss Samms and Miss Blake
Miss Maizey our cook
The Rangers on the field
Part of the Gladiator team.  On the deck is where lots of different juices, soda and water were sold along with cupcakes and hotdogs.  The money raised from the food/drink is going toward the Staff that are going to International Student Convention in May.  That will be in Harrisonburg, Virginia and Dennis & I are going with the students and some other Staff.  On Monday alone they raised over $700.00!!
Krista getting ready to kick
Two heads are better than one they say :o)  Dennis did the announcing and Mr. Profitt is the main organizer for this event and has done it for a number of years now!
Even the kindergarten class played kickball.  It was hilarious to watch some of them as they had no clue what to do after kicking the ball.  There were a lot of parents and Staff who were here to help out!
This little boy's name is Areon and is sooo cute!
Not sure who this is but I caught him in action!!
Here Miss Blake was helping one of the little one's score a run as he was one of the one's who wasn't sure what to do or where to go :o)
Alyssa ~ one super nice Jr. High friend of mine
Getting their heads together for something important
Darla Stroup ~ she is our music teacher.  She and her family moved here from Cincinnati last August.
I thought this was so cute.  Just part of the Knights team holding hands as they were walking across the field to another event!  Looking out for each other!
Miss Maisey on the move
This little guy was so cute.  He was here with his Aunt as she has two girls in school.

My friend, Debbie, who we've known for close to 16 or 17 years from Youth Camp.
The older boys
Dennis called them over to his table to tell the joke apparently as soon they cracked up laughing!!
There he is again!
Kimberli getting ready to show her strength in kicking
Wasn't sure if they were trying to get out of the sun or not
This is Alexi!  I'm not sure what the face was about.  I think I caught her talking instead of smiling.  Another cutie.
Getting ready to shot basketball
Holding up the pole and patiently waiting!!
Preparing for the three~legged race
And we're off
Oh, no!  Dennis carrying a little girl who fell and skinned up her knees.  Nothing serious!!
Then the Staff and other adults who wanted participated in the three~legged race.  Did I ever laugh!
Volley~ball
Soccer
These two are both in kindergarten and wanted their picture taken!
I stayed outside in the heat until about 2:00 and then went back to work in my office where there was air conditioning for 45 minutes of so!!  I felt really bad, because they always end with Tug of War and I wanted to be out there sooooo bad to watch.  I got to see the last two or three minutes of all the teams.  What a disappointment to miss that.  Monday was an awesome day!!  Then we had Tuesday to look forward to!  Come back and I'll try to get those pictures on in a day or two!!
