The Pantry

This nice roomy room is off the laundry room.
I love all the extra cabinet storage.  This summer I plan to paint the cabinets and walls in here.  Hopefully I will be able to accomplish it.  This will possibly also be my little room for scrapbooking, sewing, crafts, etc.

The Guest Bathroom

I have a story to tell you about the things pictured in the following three pictures.  Go to the end to read it!

Before we even looked at our house, we had stopped at a store for Dennis and Brett to buy their fishing licenses since that's what they were going to be doing most of the time in West Virginia.  When we walked into the store there were several tables set up with a lot of items on clearance and if you know anything about me I like a gooooood deal!!  Well, believe me when I tell you that there were some things there just waiting for me :o)  I got the shower curtain, the shower curtain rings, ceramic trash can, tooth brush holder and soap pump for almost $40.00 off the original price.  I was soooo excited and I love my steal of a deal.  I want to keep my eye out for something with a woods/cabin theme to change out maybe in the winter time when we are moved there permanently.

Master Bath

The Master Bathroom
~     ~     ~     ~     ~
Three of the walls have wallpaper on them . . . . .
which is pretty, but eventually it will come off and all the walls be painted.
My all time very favorite about this bathroom.  This is something I wanted in our house and my wish was granted!!
Not sure yet, but the vanity and mirror will either be replaced or painted.

The Master Bedroom

This bedroom suit was my in~law's and is cedar.  When we move back to our home permanently we will move this bedroom suit into one of the Guest Bedrooms and buy a new one for the Master Bedroom.  There will be more pictures in coming posts of the bedroom with all the furniture and how pretty it has turned out to be so far.
This was one of my Mother~in~law's beautiful quilts!
The walk~in closet

The Kitchen

Looking out to the kitchen from the living room.  I have some better pictures that I will be eventually posting.  The tile floor is pretty, but I really didn't want another tile floor after having everything here in Cayman.  One thing is that it's a different type tile.  I will adjust to it!

Views of Our New Home

Here are three different views of the outside of our new home.
We have a storage barn, too.  We have didn't access to it when we were there because of all the bad weather they had this winter.  They haven't had a chance to clean it out of their things.  When we go back this summer we'll move our Christmas decorations out there.
I like this angle of the house

Snow!

We aren't use to snow anymore, but there was still some up on the mountains.
This was driving in West Virginia the first morning after we arrived.
When we left Grand Cayman the temps were in the mid 80's with feel like of the the lower 90's.  So, I was wearing sandals when we landed in Pittsburgh.  It was bitter cold (at least to us).  I asked Dennis to stop at the store so I could buy socks :o)

My Dear Daddy!

Dear Daddy,
Oh, how I miss you!!!  It's eight years ago today that we lost you our loving and hard working Father.  I'll admit, I was Daddy's little girl and I'm not ashamed of it.  You were a person who always had to be working or tinkering at something.  If you weren't at work in the Steel Mill we could be sure you were in your shop, the yard, garden or in the barn doing something.  You were definitely not a lazy person!!  You loved us and always provided for our dear Mother and us six kids.  The last couple years of your life I was privileged to have you live near me.  With the Alzheimer's Disease I wasn't able to have you live at our house.  Almost every day I'd put Mom in the car and off we'd go to the Nursing Home to visit with you for several hours at a time.  We always had a good time with lots of laughs.  Even though your mind was affected because of that horrible disease you always knew us right up to your last two or three days of your life.  You were always happy to see us.  I remember more than once Dennis sometimes would go with Mom and I.  We'd get you in the car and take you both to get ice cream.  Oh, how you loved your ice cream!!  But the time came in the early, early morning hours on April 23, 2005 at the age of 89 years when God called your name and the angels came fluttering to your beside and carried you to your new home.  Now your mind is 100%, your hands aren't crippled and you have no pain!!!  And you're with Mom, Thelma and Matt, but most of all the One you lived to see one day.  Daddy, you'll always be in my heart and mind!!  I miss you sooooo much and again, I'm thankful for all the memories of you!!
Your girl,
Dorkie (to you) aka Dorcas
This picture was taken a few weeks after I was born.  He looks so young!

My niece, Michelle, will be celebrating her birthday on the 23rd.  She is married and the mother of three adorable kiddos, so you can tell this picture is from a few years ago :o)  She's the one in the middle and is waving.
We hope you all have had/will have a very Happy Birthday!!

Seven Years Ago

Seven years ago on April 2nd my dear oldest sister, Thelma, left this world for another where there is no cancer or sickness!!  She'll never be sick again!!  What an awesome thought after all she went through the last couple years of her life.  I remember praying when she was so low and my dear Mother's birthday was approaching on April 1st that nothing would happen on that day.  She held on until the next day.  I miss our dear Thelma so much!!  It just doesn't seem possible that she left us seven years ago.  You'll forever be in my thoughts and memories, Thelma!!

Happy Birthday Dear Mother

The day we left to go up to the States (April 1st) was my dear Momma's birthday!
~     ~    ~     ~     ~
Soon after I was born
I wanted so bad to do this post, but there just wasn't enough time before we left.  Mom's last several birthday's we tried really hard to make them more special as she was so special and she was getting up in years!!
On this particular birthday, we took her to Olive Garden in Fairlawn.  She was really shocked when they brought a little cake out for her with a candle :o)
I miss you, dear Mother, and miss celebrating your special day.
I love you!!
Dorcas

Playing Catch~Up Again!

Well, it's time to try and play catch~up again!  We were off the Island and up in the States for 12 days.  Since we've come home I've been super busy at work.  More on that later!  So, over the next week I hope to get caught up or close to it.  I have lots of posts to do.  Please be patient and come back real soon :o)
