Happy Easter

Here it is the afternoon of Easter already!!  So many things have been going on and I haven't got to put a post on here about Holy Week and this special day.  On Wednesday, we started what they call Easter Convention and it ends with tonight's service.  Dennis spoke this year and it was very good!  On Good Friday, we had a service which started at noon and when that was over there was a delicious catered meal. This usually brings in a lot of people and this year was no different!  Everything was very delicious.  On Saturday they usually have no services, so I got caught up on cleaning since we'll be leaving the Island tomorrow.  Then this morning, I had the opportunity to take the time to decide which new hat I would be wearing to our morning Easter service.  I have a total of four beautiful hats now!  My collection is growing and I'm hoping to maybe purchase another one or two while in the States.  So, I had to figure out how to fix my hair to make the hat fit :o)  Then I went to my closet and pulled out a beautiful new two piece suit!!  I hadn't been able to wear it, but since losing weight I could put it on with no problem.  (Pictures of that later)  I had a lot of compliments today.  The Premier's wife said, "You look like you may be going to the Prince's wedding on Friday!"  I told her that I'd crawl in her suitcase as they received an invitation and will be going.  (The closet I'll get is to hopefully watching it on TV with some of my family!)  Two other ladies said that I looked like I was from England!  I love going to Church on Easter Sunday here, because the people are so kind to compliment you!  I only wear a hat on special days like today and Mother's Day ~ not much more than that.  And tonight, we end our Easter Convention Services.  On Friday, I pulled out our suitcases and began to pack mine!  I'm very anxious to go spend time with our son's, daughter-in-law, grand-babies, and my siblings!!  It is going to be a great time.  Hopefully when I return I'll have a new cord for my laptop and will be able to catch up on pictures.  I'm sure I'll have lots to share with you!  So, until then stay safe!!

Six Years Ago Today

Where is time going?  I just cannot believe that it is six years ago today that my Daddy passed away!!  It just does not seem possible!!  In some ways, I wish I could turn time back several years to when he was here and in good health, but of course, that is not possible.  My sister Vi and I were just talking the other day about that morning Daddy left us for his new Home!  It was about 5:30 in the morning and I said to Vi and my brother Jim who were at the nursing home with me that the birds outside were singing!  How appropriate that was because Daddy was a lover of all animals and here they were outside his window chirping and singing.  I miss my Daddy so much, but his body wore out and today he is in Heaven with a new body and is not suffering from Alzheimer's anymore either!!  He's got a new mind, too!!  The last few years of his life he never one time forgot who I was when I'd go to visit him.  I am proud to tell the world that I was his little girl :o)  What a great Dad he was and though the parting was so hard it's wonderful to know he's rejoicing up in Heaven with the King of Kings and is with my Mother, oldest sister and nephew and a host of other family and friends.  Daddy, I plan to see you one day!  I don't know when but I will be there!!  Keep watching for me.  Tell Mom, Thelma & Matt that I said hello and I love you all sooooo much!!

Your Little Girl,
Dorcas

P.S.  I feel bad that I can't get a picture on here of him, but hopefully I'll be able to before too awful long!!

Bath Time

Yesterday, I decided to give my 'lil puppies a bath for the first time!  Just let me say that was an experience in itself.  I had filled this big pan as the rinsing off place, but they were drinking out of it pre~rinse!
And this bucket I filled to dip them in to get all wet so I could lather them up good but again . . . . .
 and from another angle!!
 Scrub ~ a ~ dub ~ dub ~ without the tub :o)
I was just as wet as the babies :o)))  And look at that gray/white hair on that lady's head!!  Oh, my!!
 Patiently waiting his turn
They were so funny!!  After I washed their backs I would lay them on the ground to get more shampoo in my hands and them scrub their bellies!!  This one just laid there.  It was so cute!!

My Third Trip to the Bottom of the Caribbean Sea in a Submarine

If you follow my blog, you'll know that it's been silent for too long!!  It's not that I wanted it that way, but I am having computer problems again :o(  I was able to download my most recent pictures on our desktop and can now proceed with blogging!  YIPPEE!!

On my last post I had a few pictures of new friends from my home area in Pennsylvania that go to my sister's Church and were visiting here in Grand Cayman.  We met them for the second time last Thursday here at the Atlantis Submarine location in George Town.  Being that we're residents here we can pay to go down in the Submarine and get a discounted price.  Our plan was to pay (with our friends money) for the four of them to do this speculator tour.  But that couldn't be done because we weren't going with them!  When the saleslady told us this Dennis asked if I could go and if that would apply to which the answer was yes.  Our new friends were so excited that I would go with them.  It wasn't our intention as I was planning to go back to the office to work not go down under the  Sea!  While we were waiting for these friends to arrive Dennis & I went out back and sat down to watch the Sea.
Nearly looks like a postcard

Here's Dixie, Becky, Phil & Tom on the boat going out to meet the Sub
The water was unbelievably blue & beautiful

There's lots of pictures and I don't remember near what they all were
Our narrator showing us that at this point we were 108 feet down under

There's some beautiful coral down there

A big barracuda and I saw several smaller ones

If you click on this picture you should be able to see the Sea Turtle

Not sure what this cable was for

When we surfaced, the boat was full of people waiting to board the Submarine.

We got back soon after the Pirate Ship docked!!
After we got back and Dennis came, Dixie and Tom went souvenir shopping.  Phil wanted to go to lunch with us, so they decided to go to Wendy's.  We had a wonderful time with them!!  We made some new friends and hope to keep in touch with them.  In fact, I'm looking forward to having breakfast with them in about two weeks when I visit my home area!!
