Spring Rainy Season?

Last Sunday, it started to rain and lasted for almost one week. No, we didn't have rain 24 hours a day but we had rain!! We don't get much rain here except in a short rainy season in the Spring and then I believe, in the Fall during hurricane season. It rained so hard one morning that it woke us up around 5:00 as the drops were pounding on the house and windows. It would rain hard, hard, hard for maybe up to continually 20 minutes that you couldn't hardly see any distance at all. Then it would slow down to a "normal" rainfall. Slowly it would stop ~ for a short while and then it would begin to pour down again!! It went on like this for 6 full days. There was water laying around everywhere you looked. I was going to take a picture out back where our students play kickball, etc. but forgot. It was unbelievable!! Here are a few pictures that I did snap to share with you!

The sky at times was so black and eerie looking

It continually gushed out the rain spouts
And this is the result of all the rain and wind we had. It caused the ground to get very soft and soggy and we lost one of our banana trees. I think with the weight of the bunches of bananas hanging on that the tree just fell over!!
A better view. We had someone use a machet and cut the bunches of bananas off. Right now they are laying on the back porch hopefully riping as the days go on.
Before this tree fell over, we had another tree with another huge bunch of bananas on that the branch broke off from all the weight. They are soooooooooooo heavy!!

Yes, it is beautiful!! It's been raining off and on again for the past few days, but usually the sun comes back out. Yesterday, it was pouring the rain down and the sun was shining so bright and pretty!!
