The "One" That Didn't Get Away!!

After our first stop was pretty much decided not the must successful place to fish we all got back in the van and headed to another place.  I thought we were going only a short distance, but it was up one mountain and down another!!  As we were going up this one mountain Jordan happened to look out his window and saw we were up pretty high and on his side of the van it was rather straight down.  He said, "I'm going to fall!  I wanna go home!"  We cracked up laughing and reassured him that he wasn't going to fall.  After a while, he fell asleep.  Many miles later we arrived at our destination which was way, way out in the boonies to a very quiet place along the river on a dirt road.  I woke Caden up and we grabbed all our goodies and went down the bank to the river.
We had bought both the boys new fishing poles but Caden's was broke when they took it out of the package, so he used Jordan's while Jordan was asleep.

Hoping and wishing!!

Oh, no!  Look at that little red rod is bending!!  That's a good sign!!
Finally, after some coaching from Pappy he landed it on the river bank!
But it didn't want to leave the water :o)
Finally!!

Click on this picture to enlarge :o))
There's the catch of the day or maybe of the week!!
It was 18" long and weighed about 2 1/2 pounds!!  That's a good size trout!!  So proud of you Caden!!
A real fisherman washes his hands off in the river
Here he is . . . . .
with his . . . . .
Daddy!!!
What a handsome little fisherman!!
Admiring his fish
Looking up the river ~ so pretty and peaceful!
Now Jordan had woke up from his nap and wanted to try to catch a fish!

Still smiling
Jordan reeling one in on his Daddy's line
He was a 'lil happy camper!!
So proud!!
Caden with his proud Pappy!!
We have Caden's big trout in our freezer in West Virginia.  Dennis wanted to get it mounted for him, but we found out when they mount them they fall apart pretty easy.  Instead they "make" them to resemble the one caught.  Not sure yet what we're going to do as it was a prize catch for Caden.  We're so proud of him!!  He gets his fishing abilities honest :o)  And I'm sure as he gets older it will be the same when it comes to hunting.

It was a nice BIG fish. Seriously that was big for a trout! Yes, his Pappy keeps him well supplied when it comes to fishing gear :o) It's a very remote area. I love the picture of looking up the river.
