Going To the Cemetery

This is Dennis' parents Church ~ Weaver Church of the Nazarene.  Aren't the flowers beautiful?  Alice would've loved them!  There was an hour viewing before the service began, but we got there early and the funeral director told us that there was no electric in the Church.  He said there was lots of light from the windows and that it was warm enough inside.  He said we could stay there and hope for the electric to come on or go back to the funeral home.  Dennis' Dad opted to stay at the Church.  While I sitting in the pew waiting for the electric to come on and the service to begin, I could see Alice as she lay there in the casket.  I was looking and looking when I mentioned to Karissa that it looked like there was a light shining on her face, but remember there was no electricity!!  She saw it, too.  Dennis said he thought it was just for us, but whatever the case it was amazing!!  About 11:10 the electric came on and the service began.
Going up one of the back roads to the cemetery
Dennis talking to his Aunt Verla after the committal service
This is Dennis' cousin's headstone.  She died 21 years ago after a horrible car accident!  Her Mama keeps it so pretty!
This is Dennis' Uncle Leck & Aunt Anna Mae's headstone.  Uncle Leck died 17 years ago from cancer!  Dennis & he were very close.
Dennis' parents had their funerals preplanned and this is the headstone they had picked out.  It's very pretty.  Cindy put some of the flowers from the funeral in the vases afterward.  Click on the picture and you'll see how they had Dennis & Cindy's names engraved on the front.
This is really neat!  They had the four Grandkids names engraved on the back!  I can just hear Alice saying that they had to have those on there.  She loved her Grandchildren!!
It was rather windy and chilly when we got to the cemetery.  Caden asked if he could stay in the van and watch his DVD.  When the service was over he got out and wanted one of his Great~Grammy's flowers.  I just love this picture of him!!
