Celebrating Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubliee Service In Cayman

HAPPY 60th  QUEEN ELIZABETH

~     ~     ~     ~     ~
Since the Cayman Islands are under the British rule naturally we helped celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 60 years of reign today at Church.

The picture on the screen doesn't show up to well on here, but in the Church it was beautiful!  When we have special services like this I always have a friend take pictures for me being I'm usually up on the platform.  I laughed when I saw this picture for just when he snapped it before the service started Dennis walked in the middle of it :o)
I was asked to play a slower paced song for Dennis, the Scout Master,
the Church Board and
the Scout's Color Guard to march in to the Sanctuary to.
Someone suggested I play
"Lead On O King Eternal"
While the Scouts were still standing in their position we sang the National Song and the National Anthem of the Cayman Islands.

Unfortunately, our Honorable Premier was in London enjoying the festivities for Queen Elizabeth and couldn't be here.  I'd would have loved to be there, too :o)  The gentleman who was to be here representing the Cayman Islands Government was sick and couldn't be here either.  After many special events during the service and Dennis' message the Scouts were preparing to exit the Sanctuary.

The "Dignitaries" following the Scouts out of the Sanctuary.
Every Sunday we have two bouquets of flowers on each side of the Church.  Today they were red, white and blue.  They were just beautiful!
Here is the front of the Church program
and the back.
Following the service, everyone went to the school cafeteria for a huge catered dinner.  It was very good!  Then it was home for a long afternoon and evening of reading, watching DVD's and sleeping.  We didn't have Church tonight as it was pretty late until the ladies finished cleaning up in the kitchen!  What a beautiful celebration for the Queen who has been in power for 60 years.  The celebration continues tomorrow!  We don't have school/work!!  YIPPEE!!  And only 3 1/2 days of school left!!  Another YIPPEE!!
