2012 Commencement Service

(I had this all finished and then forgot to post it.  Can't believe Graduation was almost one week ago already.)
Another Graduation Service has come and gone!  Wow!!  It just doesn't seem possible.  This past Sunday, June 10, 2012 or as they would write here in Cayman, 10 June, 2012 was the big day for our Seniors.  This year we had five to graduate ~ Daniel, Whitney, Martika, Karisha and David.
Here Parker (left) and Jehu (right) were carrying in the flags at the beginning of the procession
Next was Melissa with the Bible
Then the "Dignitaries"
Pastor McCoy
Pastor Randy who was our Commencement speaker and the other Dignitary was the Honorable Mary Lawrence, who is the Speaker of the House (in Government)
Our Board Members . . . . .
and my good friend, Karen, couldn't be here because she was in the hospital the night before with her elderly Mother.
Next came the faculty and staff
First here, is Miss Samms and then Mrs. Walker (in the darker pink) who left on Monday.  She started off this year teaching Kindergarten, but when we got another teacher she went back to being Miss Samms aide.  She has retired from WCA after many years of service and returned to her home country of Jamaica.  I will miss her!  She's one sweet/caring lady!
Miss Blake and Miss Debbie
Miss Debbie and Miss Mazie
Miss Mazie and Ms. Hermina
Ms. Hermina and Miss Lloyd.  Miss Lloyd also left WCA and will be teaching at another school in the Fall.
Mr. Stroup and his family also left WCA.
And our wonderful, faithful Principal Mrs. Profitt.
And here they come ~ our 2012 Graduates
Daniel
Whitney
Martika
Karisha
and last, but not least, David
At the very end was Kendra who led the audience in singing "Beautiful Isle of Cayman" and "God Save the Queen"

Mrs. Lorna gave the welcome remarks
Karisha was our Valedictorian.  She gave an excellent speech!!  I sure will miss her!!
Our guest speaker, Pastor Randy Van Kanel, from a local Church.  He short message was geared to the Seniors.
And Mrs. Mary Lawrence's spoke very eloquently!  She seems like such a sweet lady!!  I'd like to get to know her personally.
Melissa played "Come Thou Fount" on her flute
When the Seniors received their diplomas they were given a red rose by Kimberly.  They in turn gave it to their Mother's.  It was very touching!
I only got two of the students receiving their diplomas as so many parents, relatives and friends kept getting in the center aisle to get pictures :o)  This is Karisha.

And David
This was right after they moved their tassels!
I like how Doug (our I.T. guy) changed the sign after they changed their tassel!
These four ~ Daniel, David, Martika and Karisha have never sang together before, but did they ever do good and harmonize so well.  They sang "You Raise Me Up".  Great job!
Brother Burton praying a prayer of Blessing on the Graduates
It's over and now they will all exit :o)
I think I know him!

My good friends Debbie and Miss Blake
and Miss Samms
and Miss Tonya and Mrs. Beverly
Ms. Hermina and Miss Mazie
So proud of these five and the accomplishments they've made over the past 12 years!!
Congratulations to . . . . .
you all for a job well done!!

Congrats to these hard-working students.

As a side note, I think it's so fitting that you guys include Miss Mazie in your special activites. She plays an important role within your organization, and it's duly noted.

It's good to see the ladies again.

Charlotte.....
Yep! We wouldn't have it any other way but to include her. She is a very important part of WCA/WHC! They wanted me to march down the aisle, too, but I said I had to take pictures :o)
