When Dennis, Caden & I were leaving to go back home, Brett caught a fish and left Caden reel it in. Actually, he left it on the hook and threw it back in three times letting Caden think that he caught three fish!! He was soooooooooooo excited!!

Got Milk?

Our friends here had 6 or 7 quarts of milk in sealed boxes in the cabinet when we moved in here. Pretty interesting!! I'm sure they sell it that way in the States, too, although I've never seen it.

A Scene Across The Sea At Night

When I saw this across the Sea I had to run and get my camera. By the time I found the right setting it was well to being dark even though it doesn't look like it on the picture. I just love it down here!! As we were going out the road to town the other evening, I told Dennis I don't think I'll ever get tired of this beautiful area and the Sea. It is so, so colorful and gorgeous!!

Am I Dreaming???????????????

NOPE!!!! I'M NOT!!!! I just got off the phone a few minutes ago with our Premier of the Island who attends our Church. He just invited us to their home for dinner on Sunday!! Me, 'lil ole me, Dorcas, is greatly humbled that he'd call and do that. I'm so excited and nervous. Pray that Dennis nor I do anything crazy while we're there because of nervousness. One good thing is that he seems very, very down to earth. We talked to him for quite a while after Sunday morning's service and he told Dennis that he wants to meet with him about some concerns he has with a few things (not us). I don't think he'll be talking anything about those things then as we'll be doing entertaining over the weekend with the Superintendent of the Caribbean Wesleyan Churches and he'll be with us. The gentleman who is coming in on Saturday is from Antigua. WOW!! What an honor and privilege to get invited to the Premier's home. This would be like visiting at the White House with the President of the United States BUT this will be better than going to Washington D.C.!!!! Just had to share some very exciting news with you!!

P.S. The picture at the top is from November when we were here and he was being sworn in as the very first Premier of the Cayman Islands!!

If Momma Ain't Happy Nobody Is Happy

You've heard that saying, right? When we were down here in November we went to some different grocery stores to check things out and compare to see what all they had and if they had some of our favorites. Well, I was greatly disappointed when I couldn't find my favorite vegetable which is lima beans. I thought that I wouldn't make it without them :o) Today our wonderful friend and former Pastor who retired after being here for 16 or 17 years, took us to get groceries and to a different store that I wasn't in in November. And to my happiness they have lima beans!! I was so excited and had to share it with Dennis who does not like them at all. He said get a bag and he didn't have to tell me twice. I definitely be going back to that store if for no other reason to buy much desired and loved limas. Now Momma is happy and the world can go on!!

Some Exciting Events Of The Day

Today was a good day but one that was very interrupted by various things. I did a lot of odd & end jobs around the house today. My kitchen is finished until we find a few more boxes that apparently were incorrectly labeled, the guest bathroom is cleaned for company that is coming this weekend all but mopping the floor and the master bedroom is finished for now :o) I sort of putting unpacking anymore boxes on hold until next week because of our company coming Saturday. A major thing we took care of today that was very important was getting our driver's license for Cayman Islands. Considering there were two of us getting this done the time went pretty fast actually! The guy waiting on us told us that we'd have to come back as the photographer wasn't in to take our pictures at the time. So, we headed home. After being home for a few short minutes it dawned on me that the guy at the License Bureau didn't give me my Ohio Drivers License and Passport back to me :o( So, a few minutes later we returned and got my Ohio License and Passport back! Thank you, Jesus!! (I covered my license number in the picture below in case some crazy person gets on here ::o) Anyway, here it is!! On the way home from the License Bureau the first time we made a stop at the Post Office as Dennis had some questions for them. A few pieces of mail were in the mailbox for Dennis.

Then almost every Thursday evening the majority of the school staff and Pastor/wife go out to dinner. We felt honored to be invited to go along. It was scrumptious. We had been taken here when we were down in November.

So, on this beautiful January evening we decided to sit outside under the clear starry/moonlit sky and enjoy our dinner. Now while we were sitting there, I must confess I did think of my family/friends up North who have been telling me about the cold weather and about the snow and freezing rain they are to get! I feel really sorry for you all!! Today it was in the upper 80's, clear and sunny. Just beautiful!! While I did think of all of you up north it doesn't give me any hankerings to return to the cold, dreary, cloudy, overcast, depressing northland anytime soon!!

Did I mention that it was really, really hot today here and that we ate dinner outside???? Just making sure all you northerners know how beautiful the weather has been!! Wonderful!!
