Church In the Wildwood

Everytime we go out to our friend Ralph's I have to stop and take pictures of the beautiful little Church in the valley.  I just love the view from up here!!

Our Big Christmas Tree

This year Dennis and I just aren't in the Christmas spirit and I was so tempted not to even put up a tree or decorations.  That is very unusual for me being that this is my favorite time of the year!!  There are so many things going on and then we aren't going to be with any of our family over the holidays either.  Brandon was supposed to come down for Christmas, but one of his good friends is getting married on the 28th and he's in the wedding meaning he can't come :o(  Finally, last week I decided to go ahead and decorate even though Dennis didn't really want me to.  It now looks like Christmas here even though we may not feel like it.  On another note, we were talking to Caden and Jordan yesterday on the phone.  Dennis was telling them about the different ornaments that we have on our tree.  Well, living in the Caribbean you'll understand what he was meaning.  So, I told the boys I would take pictures and put them on my blog just for them.  If you look at them ~ enjoy!

I got this ornament last year, but is one of the most special on my tree!!!

 

 

A pink turtle!!  Isn't this cool?  My sister got it for me when she was here last year.

Even a dolphin has made it's way on our tree.  There have been sightings recently here at Cayman of dolphins!

I got this ornament this summer, too, when we stopped at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

 

 

 

 And one of my dear siblings gave me this ornament for my birthday when they were here in March :o)

A Visit to Ralph's Home

Later in the day after Pap passed away, Dennis, Brett, Caden, Jordan and I went to see a friend of the McCoy family.  Dennis' dad had worked on the railroad in Baltimore, Maryland for over 25 years with a gentleman by the name of Ralph.  I'll never forget one of the first times I met them soon after Dennis & I married.  His wife, Jenny, was blind and such a sweet lady.  After he retired, they moved back to West Virginia to a beautiful farm not too far from Dennis' parents home .  Dennis, his dad and both our boys frequently use to hunt on Ralph's farm at deer season.  I have no idea how many deer they killed there, but it was a lot.  Just last year, Dennis killed a nice buck there way up in a field and came back to the house to get me to go help him get it drag it to the van :o)  That was my first time to do that! haha!

Here the boys are ready to go visit Ralph to let him know that his good friend had passed away!  Notice their hats.  These are the one's Dennis got them in Colorado this summer on our little vacation with them.  They say "Grandpa's fishing buddy!"

To get to Ralph's house, you have to drive out a long, long gravel/dirt road that is really in bad condition.  Along the way, we saw this old run down building.  Not sure what it use to be.

Here's Ralph (with his cute little, yappy dog) and Dennis talking.  This summer Ralph fell in his house and broke his hip.  He has a hard time getting around now which is really sad.  I can't remember exactly, but I think he's almost 91 years old and up until he fell, he still worked around his farm!!

Helping Grammy Cook and Bake

When Caden was younger he always wanted to be in the kitchen with me helping to cook and bake.  So, when I was doing some cooking I asked Jordan if he wanted to sit on the counter and help me.

And of course he said yes :o)

Making A Snowman

I had bought some craft things to make with the boys, but didn't get to do much.

But we did get to make a snowman ornament!

 

The snowmen are cute, but "my" men are cuter!!
