Headed To Colorado ~ #3 ~ Pretty Cool Surprise

Let me just start out by saying you never know what you'll run into when you're traveling in a new area.  Dennis had looked at the map and decided on the route we were going to be taking.  Brett did almost all the driving this day as Dennis was still recovering from surgery and rested.  When he told Brett to watch for a certain route number, we got on that road and were driving along when all of a sudden there was a sign that said the next 16 miles were going to be gravel road!  Did we ever laugh!!  It was so neat ~ out in the middle of nowhere going through Indian Reservation territories!!  I loved this new adventure!!  Some parts of the gravel road were so rough that you thought you were driving on a washboard.  Brett had to go sooooooooooooo slow :o)

Then I asked him to stop so we could get some pictures.  Unfortunately, Jordan was asleep!

Headed To Colorado #2

Denver is quite a long trip from Brett's and as you can see someone wanted out of their carseat for a break :o)
Another straight stretch of road
We drove through several Indian Reservations

Either Brett or Dennis went to put a DVD in for the boys to watch and here someone left a Disney one in the van.  And it was one they hadn't seen before which made it nice for them!

CUBA!!

This is especially for my family.
I finally made it to Cuba!!  Just had to have a picture :o)

Headed To Colorado

As we left Albuquequere, Dennis and I were in awe at the beauty!
It was just beautiful in it's own way
It would be pretty flat but out in the distance these big mountains
My traveling buddies eating some fruit snacks
Look at view
Do you see the red on the side of the mountain?

The Little Dude
This butte was so neat!  Around the top were these rocks that made it look like there was a fortress built up there.
More red

Out there in the middle of nowhere was this little/big looking mound, but it was rock!!
My Little Man was an awesome traveler!!

Getting Ready and Gone

We had some big plans with Brett and his family!!  Dennis and I had decided that we were going to rent a mini van and take them up to Denver, Colorado for four nights.  But first . . . . .
G~Force must be fed
Somebody passed GO and collected his Cayman money even though we weren't playing Monopoly:o)
And my Little Ham was chugging down his YooHoo chocolate milk!!
Finally, everything was packed in the van including my precious cargo who shared the back seat with me although Jordan didn't stay there too long.
We drove through the base housing
Look at these beautiful mountains in New Mexico.
Then we passed this museum with planes outside!
And off we were on our way to Denver.
Lots and lots of pictures to come in the coming days or maybe even weeks!
What a great time we had.

Dennis had surgery the night before in West Virginia, so he was still taking it pretty easy.  He was showing Jordan flash cards and he would in turn respond to his Pappy with what was on them!

Oops!  There's the big brother!

Again, my 'lil ham!!
