Up north in the States they cancel school for snow days! But here in Cayman school gets canceled when we have an abundance of rain because of flooding. Today was to be the first full day of school, but during the night hours and early morning we had some major downpours. The property here at the compound was under water at several places. The bus drivers left for their usual routes, but talked to the Principal while they were out and said the roads were very, very bad. So much for the anticipation and/or apprehension some of the students might of had :o) Hopefully tomorrow the weather will be better and we'll get back to business! Haha!! I was back and forth to my office while trying to bake cookies here at home for the students lunch tomorrow. That's been a long process to finish them up. I'm just about finished with that for this time!

As we were driving along pretty high up a mountain, we drove past a pull~off area! I asked Brett to turn around and go back thus we did. It was a nice place for the boys (and everyone else) to get out and stretch their legs.
We saw this sign and it drew our interest!
And out in front of us was this breath taking view!! The picture doesn't begin to do justice to this beautiful place!!
After zooming out the lens
These people were there, too :o)
There were tons of grasshopper's there that Brett was trying to catch for the boys
Our rental van
Checking out grasshopper's
I love this picture!!
And this one, too!
Wildflowers
Back to the grasshopper's :o)
Jordan even found a pinecone
Showing his Grammy
Another sign that spiked our interest. I want to call and ask about these two pieces of property! Would be awful nice for the guys to go hunting there!!
After spending quite a bit of time at the little pull~off area, we headed on toward Denver. We kept seeing these contraptions and I finally figured out that they were little shelters that had a picnic area underneath! Pretty cool!!

El Vado Dam
As we were driving along the gravel road, we went down a slight incline and you could see this large body of water. Finally, we came upon this sign again in the middle of nowhere!
The concrete wall of the dam
Oh, what a view it was!!
Out the opposite side of the van
The little spot in the lake is a boat
When I saw these jet~ski's I started having flashback's of falling off one into the Sea here in Cayman :o)))
What a beautiful and nice surprise it was when we came upon the dam!
