This is Dennis' great niece.  Her mommy & daddy are also in the Air Force in Albuquerque and Karissa babysits for her.  This is Allison.

So Sad

My heart was saddened this morning when we received a phone call that a friend of mine passed away from a heart attack during the night.  She was close to our age and has her five grandchildren in our school.  And she was just in my office on Friday to pay some school bills.  Over the past 20 months, we had developed a friendship by her coming in to take care of the financial matters of her grandkids.  Those kids loved her soooooooo much.  In fact, three of them lived with their Grandma & Grandpa.  What a loss for them.  I guess I'm just numb and in shock about her passing as well as everyone else here.  Life is so fragile!!  Handle it with care and be sure to hug your loved ones today!!

Our Guest At the Show ~ N ~ Tell

You may be wondering what I mean bye Show~N~Tell!  That's Caden's interpretation for "Hotel" :o)  Before arriving in Albuquerque, Brett had reserved a room at Base Lodging for us.  The first two nights Dennis wasn't going to be there, so I had asked Caden to stay with me to which he obliged!  But much to my chagrin the very first night after we had made our plans for him to do so he fell fast asleep an hour or so before I went to my lodging and he just stayed with his daddy and mommy.  That night I was by myself!  BUT every night afterwards, he stayed at the "Show~N~Tell!!  I didn't think to take a picture of the lodging building, but it was a dorm/barracks redone.  It was nice with having a separate living room area plus a large bedroom.  The bathroom was very small but we made out okay.  From what Brett said they have newer units that are much closer to their house, so maybe next time we'll get to stay there.  Here's a little idea of what Caden and I did while he spent those nights with me/us.

Happy Birthday

Yep!  There was the party and lots of fun!  Here's the proof!!

A sweet little girl in first grade had a birthday this week.  Her class along with the Kindergarten class went to a park and some other place which I forget where right now.  Dennis and I were invited to join them and were going to, but something came up and he had a very important meeting to attend :o(  The mother puts on a party like you've never seen!  She sure puts out the money for it just let me put it that way.  After the party was over, she brought probably 20 or more balloons into my office and left all of these for me :o)

Then yesterday, she came in with two plates with huge pieces of cake!!  Oh, my!!  Talk about calories.  I seriously doubt that I'll eat all of mine plus it's probably sickening sweet.  This lady is so thoughtful!!

So, it's not really "my" birthday.  I just have the balloons and cake and am going to celebrate, but don't get any older while doing so! haha!!

Happy Birthday Matthew

Today is another one of those days where you just don't know what to say!!  Today would've been my Grandmother's birthday.  And a long time after her birth, my dear nephew Matthew was born.  Unfortunate for us his life ended much to early when cancer over took his earthly body!!  I came across some pictures that I had downloaded on my computer and just wanted to share them.  Of course, they were many years ago when Matt was a "youngster" :o)  The first two were when we still lived in Coopersburg and his family had come to visit us.  They make me smile!!  Just thinking of him carrying Brett around is funny to me for some reason.

Even though he was several years older than my boys he still took time to play with them.

And I hate that this picture turned sideways on me!!  I tried several times to turn it but it downloads on blogger wrong.  Oh, well, you still get the picture.  His graduation from Pequea Valley!

And this, too, was a few years ago!!  This was at Thelma's ~ not sure what holiday it was.  Probably we were all there for a big Thanksgiving meal.  Matt with his Daddy Jimm.

Matt was a beautiful person on the inside and out!! He was a great guy and nobody can replace him and we don't want anyone to replace him!!  Like Jim said, "Matt, is having the party of all parties!"   We love you, Mattie, as your Pop~Pop called you.  Happy Birthday in Heaven!!

What A Treasure :o)

Saturday late afternoon we had some spare time before meeting friends for dinner and went into a grocery store which we don't usually get to very often.  I wanted some pretzels, so Dennis graciously went to the snack aisle while I was looking elsewhere.  When I caught up to him this is what he had just for me!!  Oh, are they ever good and hot!!!  YUMMY!!  Too bad they don't have the burnt pretzels down here.  BUT I will settle for these!!
