Going To "Our" River

The Tygart Valley River is right across a field from our house.
So, when you have two little boys who like to fish . . . . .
you walk across the field, through the woods and finally arrive :o)  Look at that big smile!!
It's not such a good place . . . . .
to take them fishing as there's so much brush along the river bank, but they sure tried!

Memorial Day ~ A Tribute To Our Soldiers

This is a tribute to our soldiers who have served in the Military over the years.  It is very touching!!  As you know, freedom isn't free.  Some gave, sacrificed and/or gave their life for our freedom.
~     ~     ~     ~     ~
There are thousands upon thousands that have lost their lives fighting for our freedom.  They never made it back home to their loved ones.  My Daddy's brother was killed in Germany in World War II.  I'm so thankful that my son, Brett, came back home safe after serving three deployments!!  My brother, Jim, made it safely home after serving in Vietnam and also my nephew, Buddy, who served.  But there are so many Mother's sons or daughters who don't come home alive and my heart aches for them!!  Thanks to all who are/have served our great Country!!  I came across this video and wanted to share it with you.

Our Easter Egg Hunt

I know Easter is way past, but I'm trying to savor the memories with our dear, sweet Grand~son's!
~     ~     ~     ~     ~
We weren't with the boys on Easter . . . . .
so we had our . . . . .
Easter Egg Hunt . . . . .
a little later with them!
I'm not sure who had the most fun . . . . .
the boys . . . . .
or Pappy and Grammy watching from the sidelines :o)
I love Caden's expression!!
It was a very exciting time!!
Pappy with his favorite Little Men!!
We were going to have another Egg Hunt, but some situations didn't allow it.  Oh, what memories!!  We love you Caden and Jordan as you guys are the very, very best!!
Jordan playing with one of the Tonka trucks I found that was packed away
We had made a trip to the store to buy them new fishing poles.  Here Caden was practicing with Jordan's.
Finally, Jordan has his fishing pole and is fishing in the front yard :o)  Silly boy!!
Not sure what Jordan was hunting with his gun.  Maybe a big buck!!

New Bikes

We bought the boys new bikes to ride while they visited with us
Our house is at the end of a street
and no traffic comes there.
So, it's a perfect place for little boys to ride their bikes.  And ride their bikes they did :o)

Fun, Fun, Fun

I sort of forgot about continuing my blog after Mother's Day :o(  I still have some very important pictures to post of our visit with Caden and Jordan!
~     ~     ~     ~     ~
We were showing them through our new home and they jumped up on our bed ~ literally!!  They jumped and jumped and jumped!!
There was a time in my life when I wouldn't have allowed that, but how can you tell your Grandkids to stop :O)))  They sure had fun.
Before the boys got to West Virginia, their Pappy and Daddy found Caden's fishing vest and he proudly modeled it for me!!
When I was sorting things in the garage I came across the Duplo Legos and their Daddy and Uncle Bubba's metal Tonka toys.
We went shopping and bought Jordan a tricycle.  Here he had a pair of pliers and was "working" on it :o)  Brett said sometimes if he is working on his truck that Jordan will get tools and crawl under it and help "work"!!  Who knows?  Maybe someday he will be a mechanic!
Caden was taking time out to watch something
My little buddy
Showing me his tee~shirt.  It says "Bad to the Bone" and is from Cayman Islands.  I wonder where they got that?
Putting his toes in his mouth
Wearing a hat and being silly
I also came across two boxes of Lincoln Logs that my three boys enjoyed :o)
Come back as I have lots more pictures to share.

Mother's Day Service In Grand Cayman 2013

One of our friends who is also a teacher in our school took pictures for me this morning during the service.  A lot of them were from the balcony where our sound room is located.  He did a good job!  Thank you, Mr. Profitt!!
Mary doing a reading "Reflecting On Mothers"
Brother Laten sang "Going Home".  It is so good to have him back in our services after having major surgery again to correct a horrible problem that happened during a prior major surgery.  He is a great man!!
McKeeva and Kerry came to Church this morning.  They haven't been here in about 14 months.
At one point in the service all the Mother's with babies one year or under were to stand up.  They all got a fruit basket.
You can't tell it too much from this picture but the Church was pretty full.  The lady second from the right is my good friend Deana.  She is so sweet!!  This morning four of her five children were in Church which three don't attend here regular.  It was nice to meet them!!
Dennis
This was so funny!!  Someone had chosen eight ladies from the Church who were to represent important Mother's from the Bible.  Last week one day my good friend Karen who we've known for many years emailed me and told me about this and said she was supposed to be Eve.  The next sentence stated that she was supposed to dress like Eve.  She said what should I wear???  Well, the first thought that went through my mind was Adam and Eve in the garden wearing clothes made from leaves, so I suggested that.  I told her to sew banana leaves together as they are big and she wouldn't need as many :o)  Well, she took my idea and did it.  But if it would've been me I would never cut them.  I would have left them big!!  Her skirt turned out so cute!!!
Here are all the ladies
Each year our Church Board chooses a very special lady from the Congregation to be "The Mother of the Year".  This year they chose a dear, sweet lady by the name of Mimi.
She's surrounded by her family
Dennis presenting her with a plaque
She also received a fruit basket and pretty bouquet of flowers from the Church
I wished these pictures would have been zoomed in a little more.  The lady on the right is who we affectionately call Aunt Julia with me.  She is 104 years old and still comes to Church a lot of Sunday's!!  She doesn't hear too well and other things were happening so she really had a harder time hearing me :o)
She is really witty and funny for her age!!
They were presenting me the "Pastor's Wife" with a fruit basket and then they gave one to Aunt Julia as well.
The young men on the left and right were the one's presenting the gifts to the Mother's.  The lady standing beside Dennis is Aunt Julia's daughter-in-law.
She had me cracking up almost the whole time we were sitting there.
Wayne helping her back to her seat
This group of ladies were honored, too
Our Assistant Pastor and wife with baby Grant who is 10 weeks old.  I love his tie.  I told his Mommy that it was almost as big as him :o)
Kerry received a basket of flowers
Part of the Congregation
The Mother's always go up front near the end of the service to sing.  There were a lot who didn't go up because of physical ailments.
Pastor Aaron dismissing in prayer
Gretchen asked me to take a family picture for them.  Poor Grant was conked out :o)
